Our Mission

The mission of BEvelop is to provide a holistic educational and cultural experience to inner-city youth to foster the growth, development, and empowerment of values, character, life, and leadership skills, and overall well-being. We seek to inspire a cultural transformation to build flourishing communities, one child at a time.

Vision

To become Baltimore’s leading provider of holistic educational programming and curriculum, fully augmented and integrated into Baltimore City Public Schools to impact 20,000 youth.

The Problem

• Baltimore adolescent mental health & well-being among the worst in the world
• 35% of children in Baltimore live below the poverty line, with 61% living in low-income homes
• Nearly 33% of all Maryland prisoners come from the city of Baltimore

• 17.9% of its schools experiencing habitual truancy at the rate of 10% or higher
• 84 percent of Baltimore public school students are poor enough to qualify for free or reduced-price school lunch
• African American incomes in Baltimore are nearly $40,000 less than that of Maryland, which is the richest state in the country
